Summary
The purpose of this position is to perform police activities and emergency response in the interest of public safety.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responds to calls for service by patrolling assigned district, enforcing laws and ordinances, issuing citations, making arrests, serving subpoenas, and answering citizen complaints.Investigates crimes, accidents, or violations by conducting witness and suspect interviews, following up on leads, and completing assigned cases.Performs field operations by conducting surveillance, organizing and directing officers, and executing search and arrest warrants.Prepares documentation of incidents, reports, and search warrants and maintains files.Attends court and testifies if necessary.Supplemental Functions: Performs other similar duties as required.Job Specifications and Qualifications: Knowledge:North Carolina General StatutesBasic rules and regulations of criminal investigations, federal, state, city, and departmentBasic Police investigative and identification techniquesGeography of the City of ConcordFirearmsComputersLicensing and Certifications:Possession or ability to obtain North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Certification. Failure to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire may result in termination.Possession or ability to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver's License within sixty (60) days.
