Job DescriptionCollege Intern - Mobility Management Programs
Start building your career while helping support mobility options throughout Orange County! As a College Intern supporting OCTA's Mobility Management Programs section within the Operations Division, you'll work alongside transportation professionals and gain practical experience supporting programs and projects that help connect people with transportation services and mobility solutions.
OCTA's College Intern Program is a year-round paid student/intern program. You will gain real-world work experience on meaningful projects under the guidance of experienced transportation professionals. You will have opportunities to strengthen your problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills while benefiting from mentorship, career development, and internal networking.
The pay range is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on education level. This position is not eligible for employee benefits. The work schedule will consist of approximately 20 hours per week, not to exceed 1,000 hours within a continuous 12-month period.
What You'll Do
- Support day-to-day Mobility Management Programs activities, projects, and initiatives.
- Research, compile, organize, and analyze data to support program objectives and decision-making.
- Assist with preparing reports, presentations, spreadsheets, tracking tools, and other program materials.
- Support program and project tracking, including monitoring activities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Assist with research and analysis related to transportation services, mobility programs, and operational needs.
- Participate in meetings and assist with documenting project updates, action items, and follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with staff and stakeholders on program activities and special projects.
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to assignments that support program effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Currently enrolled full-time as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at a four-year college or university and pursuing a bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the department's business.
- Interest in public transportation, mobility programs, transportation planning, business or public administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented professional environment.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to learn increasingly complex concepts and assume progressively responsible assignments.
- Gain real-world transportation experience while supporting mobility programs that serve the Orange County community.
