Correctional Asst Supt V (NS)

Salary Grade Range: $60,881.00 - $106,544.00

The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!

This position is located at Granville Correctional Institution, Butner, NC, Granville County. • This position will assist the Warden V in the management and operation of Granville Correctional Institution. • This position has direct responsibility for the safe and secure housing of male felon offenders housed at the institution and must ensure the safety of staff and the general public. • The Associate Warden manages the total custody section, including the food service operation and provides for the safety and security of the facility. • Operational complexities are enhanced by considerable offender movement in support of a wide variety of programs, multiple locations, multiple populations and/or specialized services. • This position reviews all incident reports, assigns and reviews internal investigations, conducts critical internal investigations, reviews offender requests and responds appropriately, and assures that the personnel resources are allocated for the maximum benefit of the facility. • This facility houses and provides services for approximately 904 inmates, ages 19 - 25 in close-custody and inmates assigned to maximum control, intensive control, high security maximum control, disciplinary segregation and safekeeping status. • This position reports directly to the Warden.
