Job Description
Program Specialist II (Program Specialist)
Performs moderately complex (journeylevel) consultive services and technical assistance work. Work involves collecting, organizing, analyzing, and preparing materials related to open investigative files. Work also involves providing internal and external customer service, performing internal administrative support work, and responding to open records requests. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Job Duties
This position:
- Prepares and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
- Makes entries in the computer tracking system, makes photocopies, and answers the telephone.
- Assists attorneys and investigators with litigation, including maintaining electronic case files and hearing preparation.
- Maintains communications with clients, opposing counsel, agencies, and the general public.
- Assists with professional scheduling of depositions, court appearances, and client interviews.
- Receives, processes, and responds to open records requests.
- Reviews and redacts confidential information from investigation, complaint, and case files.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires:
- Experience.
- Two years of experience in an office environment, administrative procedures, customer service, or in a field relative to assignment.
- Regular work attendance.
- Travel may be required for up to 5% of the time. If travel is 10% or more, you must maintain a state of Texas Driver¿s License.
Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a yearforyear basis.

This position requires regular work attendance. The ideal candidate must be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

- Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job.
- Developing goals and objectives.
- Using Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Analyze and solve workrelated problems and work independently on a variety of administrative work and technical assignments.
- Manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet necessary deadlines.
- Work both independently and as a team player.
- Establish and maintain positive, effective, and open communication with all levels of employees and the public.
