This role requires vigilance, professionalism, and adherence to company protocols to identify and respond to potential risks.The Armed Security Guard communicates effectively with the Site Supervisor or Manager on duty and works collaboratively with team members to uphold company policies, regulatory requirements, and a high standard of client service.ResponsibilitiesProvides onsite watch/protection of assigned post and designated perimeterObserves, reports and supports client expectationsReports all breaches per applicable methodsOperate security equipment like magnetometers or handheld metal detectors.Utilizes company scheduling platform for clock-ins/clock-outs of scheduled shiftEvaluates and responds to alerts in surrounding area with professionalism and according to company protocolSupport Fire Life Safety Directors during fire-related emergencies.Alerts Supervisor on Duty when situation requires escalation per company protocolAssists fellow security guards with de-escalation when applicable per company protocolFollows procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, and incident reportingWorks with diligence and respect to ensure the safety and security of assigned client, visitors and propertyAdheres to all Company service and operating standardsAdditional tasks as neededQualifications2+ years of security experience, preferably in a shelter settingPrior Law Enforcement Experience (Required)Valid NYS Armed Security Guard License (Required)Pistol Permit (Required)Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skillsAbility to stand for a long period of timeProfessional appearance and demeanorAdditional certifications are a plus\nCompany DescriptionFounded in 1985, we have perfected our approach to high quality security.
