The Department of Biology at Wilmington College is seeking a broadly trained biologist who complements existing faculty expertise. This is a full time, 9-month, tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Biology, beginning January 2027. We are seeking candidates who will work collegially and effectively with faculty, students, staff, administrative colleagues, and alumni. The successful candidate will teach lecture and laboratory sections of the freshman biology sequence as well as upper division courses in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and an upper-level course in their area of expertise that complements the existing curriculum. The candidate will serve as a research mentor for undergraduate capstone research projects.


Qualifications:

· Ph.D. required

· Experience in and enthusiasm for teaching biology at the college level.

· Familiarity with the small college environment preferred.

· Strong interpersonal skills.
