Summary

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in customs/import compliance, with substantial experience in the food industry (seafood experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong, working knowledge of FDA import requirements, including Prior Notice, FSVP, and seafood HACCP; demonstrated experience interacting directly with FDA on import matters.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and entry processes.
  • Experience managing or working closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders on import documentation and entry filings.
  • Proven track record resolving import holds, detentions, or refusals in a timely, low-disruption manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping discipline, with the ability to maintain audit-ready compliance documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally with regulatory agencies (FDA, CBP) and external partners.
  • Ability to interpret and translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable internal processes and training.
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
