Senior/Principal Spacecraft Thermal Engineer (Remote)

Fully Remote

Pay: $150k-$175k base + Bonus + Generous benefits (medical, dental, vision) + 401k w/ matching + 4 weeks PTO


We do have locations in Anaheim, CA and Lancaster, PA (if you're local, you can be hybrid ~1 a week if you'd like but not required, Remote work is fine)


We design and manufacture system-level thermal solutions, partnering with customers for over 20 years across aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, and government R&D sectors.


Our technologies support mission-critical applications ranging from spacecraft thermal management to precise temperature control in surgical environments, operating across extreme conditions from -150°C to 1,100°C.


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Spacecraft Thermal Engineer to support thermal and mechanical design for spacecraft and spaceflight hardware. This role partners with engineering and manufacturing teams from early trade studies through detailed analysis, prototyping, and flight hardware.


Responsibilities

  • Perform spacecraft thermal and mechanical analysis and design.
  • Develop thermal models and evaluate thermal control systems, radiators, and heat rejection strategies.
  • Analyze component temperatures across mission and orbital environments.
  • Support prototype and flight hardware development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Review technical documentation and provide design recommendations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support complex space programs.


Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Strong heat transfer and thermal analysis fundamentals.
  • Experience with spacecraft thermal design and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with CAD, FEA, and CFD tools; Thermal Desktop strongly preferred.
  • Spacecraft mission and subsystem experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.


Program Experience

Opportunity to support CubeSats, SmallSats, LEO/GEO satellites, satellite constellations, scientific spacecraft, and advanced thermal control systems - with analysis directly informing the design and development of flight hardware.
