Special Education Teacher
Hours per week: 35
Location: New City, NY
Hours: 8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting preschool students with special needs and creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans using age-appropriate curriculum and monthly themes.
- Create and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports students' cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Supervise students and provide direction and support to Teaching Assistants and Teacher's Aides.
- Monitor student progress and prepare quarterly or trimester progress reports.
- Complete annual summaries of student progress and participate in educational assessments as needed.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, health checks, and required documentation, including CPSE Portal records.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and participate in parent conferences and annual review meetings.
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school district personnel.
- Utilize technology, including Google Classroom and Google Meet, to support family communication and virtual instruction when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Special Education Teacher Certification (PreK-12 or Birth-2).
- Knowledge of special education requirements and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency with computers and relevant educational software.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
