Summary
We are working with an established heavy civil contractor in Arizona that is looking to appoint an experienced Project Superintendent to support its growing Water/Wastewater construction operations.
This position will take responsibility for the field delivery of municipal Water/Wastewater and heavy civil projects, coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, safety and schedules from mobilization through project completion.
As Project Superintendent, you will provide day-to-day leadership on site and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with plans, specifications and project schedules.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily field operations across Water/Wastewater and heavy civil construction projects
- Coordinating foremen, field crews, subcontractors and equipment
- Developing and maintaining short-term construction schedules
- Planning manpower, materials and equipment requirements
- Monitoring project productivity and field performance
- Ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures
- Reviewing project plans, specifications and construction documents
- Coordinating inspections, testing, surveying and quality-control activities
- Identifying changed conditions, potential delays and constructability issues
- Maintaining accurate daily reports, quantities and field documentation
- Coordinating closely with Project Managers and project engineering teams
- Managing subcontractor performance and sequencing
- Supporting project closeout and turnover
- Maintaining strong relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors and project stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of Water/Wastewater or closely related heavy civil construction experience
- Previous experience working as a Superintendent, Project Superintendent or Senior Superintendent
- Strong field experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects
- Experience managing crews, foremen and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical and construction plans
- Strong knowledge of construction safety and field operations
- Experience coordinating project schedules, equipment and manpower
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Candidates with experience delivering projects involving water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, pipelines, underground utilities, structural concrete or major municipal infrastructure are particularly encouraged to apply.
Arizona or Southwest construction experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities would also be beneficial.
