Assistant Superintendent – Construction
Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: $80,000-$100,000
A growing Chicago construction and development firm is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support day-to-day field operations on active construction projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone with early-career field experience who wants to gain exposure to the full construction lifecycle and develop into a Superintendent.
Responsibilities
- Support the Superintendent with daily field operations and project scheduling
- Coordinate subcontractors, workforce activity, equipment deliveries, and site logistics
- Track daily jobsite activity and maintain documentation in Procore
- Assist with project meetings, daily reports, and progress documentation
- Conduct jobsite safety orientations and inspections
- Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and communicate potential concerns
- Assist with quality control inspections and verify work meets project requirements
- Coordinate temporary facilities, deliveries, site access, and general jobsite logistics
- Support erosion control, stormwater management, and environmental compliance
- Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsite
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of construction industry experience
- 1+ year of construction field experience
- Strong interest in developing a career in field leadership / construction supervision
- Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibility
- Degree or certificate in Construction Management or Design
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
