OverviewNew Grads welcome to apply.Achieve and retain the required market share of available recyclable raw material feed supply for assigned plants at margins adequate to optimize profit and utilize capacity available. Facilitate the implementation of a centralized strategic and tactical procurement structure with the Strategic Sourcing Group. Must also plan, forecast and maintain the required inventory and volume for assigned Recycling Facilities and Battery Plants while providing technical and logistical support to all customers.The commodity specialist will report to the Director of Raw Materials Commodities.This position requires you to be on-site daily in our Alpharetta, GA, facility.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain collaborative relationship with all suppliers and customers, as well as potential suppliers and customers, in an efficient, professional and cost-effective manner.Coordinate recyclable lead raw material and premium metal procurements and customer requirements for maximizing operational capacity while achieving inventory turn goals and ensure continuity of operations.Negotiate pricing for all raw materials to maximize materials marginsIdentify new sourcing opportunities through effective strategic planning and analysis.Coordinate with transportation department and providers to ensure timely delivery of the inbound raw material delivery scheduleIdentify and isolate any problems regarding incoming material and initiate and implement the necessary corrective action required to correct the issue and prevent it from reoccurring.Working knowledge of DOT regulations, materials being transported and company policy.Work collaboratively with different stakeholders: smelters, battery plants, suppliers, Finance & LogisticsAbility to interpret reports to make decisions, and able to create new reports (Tableau, Excel) as required to enhance the businessProcess and reconcile Used Lead Acid Battery receiptsProcess POsCross train, and act as a backup to Team membersFind new sources of scrap materialAdditional responsibilities as neededto support the team and company goals.QualificationsEducation, ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business Administration (preferred but not required) or equivalent experienceMinimum of 2-3 years of experience in one or a combination of materials functionsPurchasing, inventory or production control, etc. with at least some experience using an MRP systemWill consider new graduatesCompetencies, Skills, Knowledge:Ability to organize and plan work flowHigh analytical skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong MS Office (Excel) skillsAbility to work with all levels of management from various functions and collaborate on strategy and solutionsMust possess a high level of personal integrity, intelligence, determination and respect for othersCommitment, drive and self-motivationSpecial projects as requiredAdaptability and positive reaction to business needs and evolving strategiesAbility to work collaboratively within the GroupEnjoys working in a fast-paced environmentEntrepreneurial spiritEnvironmentThis position is performed in a professional office environment and requires regular onsite attendance.
