INVESTIGATION SPECIALIST II - 79010307This position is located within the Division of Regulation, Tampa/Sarasota Office. This position is responsible for investigating alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board rules governing a variety of professions regulated by the department in the counties of Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Hardee and Desoto.Your specific responsibilities include interviewing complainants, subjects, and other appropriate witnesses; collecting and analyzing corroborative evidence; performing various record searches; reviewing legal documents and financial data; preparing and serving subpoenas, notices to cease and desist, notices of non-compliance, citations, administrative complaints, and other administrative processes as required; mediating complaints when appropriate; writing comprehensive reports; testifying truthfully in depositions, criminal, civil and administrative hearings; performing preliminary and supplemental investigations; responding to reported unlicensed activities; conducting covert sting operations; engaging in outreach programs; participating in Department directed public relation activities; developing and maintaining relationships with other governmental entities; and using these relationships to aid in the enforcement of statutes and rules governing various regulated practices.Knowledge, skills, and abilities include clear and effective communication in verbal and written forms; analytical skills to identify violations of statutes and rules; proficiency in the use of computers; ability to operate a motor vehicle safely; ability to work flexible hours with regional travel and occasional overnight travel.Minimum requirements include four or more years of regulatory-related experience; investigative experience; experience formatting, editing, and creating comprehensive investigative reports using Microsoft Word; and a valid Florida Driver's License. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a regulatory-related field or an Associates' degree (in any field) & 2 years regulatory-related experience.
