Unarmed Transit Safety Officer (New Orleans, LA)

Summary

NOLA Protection Group , a leader in professional security services in the New Orleans and surrounding area, is currently accepting applications for the role of a unarmed Transit Safety Officer at the Erato Cruise Terminal. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating vehicle and pedestrian flow for the cruise ship terminal to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.

Starting pay $14.00 per hour, TWIC preferred but not required

Core Responsibilities

• Flow Coordination: Direct heavy vehicle and pedestrian flow entering the cruise ship terminal safely and efficiently.
• Passenger Guidance: Guide arriving cruise ship passengers to designated parking terminals and check-in areas.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional hospitality, clear communication, and assistance to guests and travelers.
• Environment Adaptability: Remain stationary or walk for extended periods of time in outdoor environments (including heat, rain, and cold weather).

Qualifications & Requirements

• LSBPSE Registration: Must either be currently registered as a Security Officer with the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners (LSBPSE) or meet all requirements for registration.
• Background Clearance: Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma (or equivalent) and pass a background and fingerprint check with the Louisiana State Police.
• Training: Willingness to complete 16 hours of required classroom training.
• Physical Stamina: Must be in good physical condition to handle outdoor assignments that include prolonged standing and walking.
• Professionalism: Maintain a clean, professional appearance and display elite communication skills.
• Availability: Must have open availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience: Prior security or transit logistics experience is preferred, but not required.
