Title: Manager, AI and Business Intelligence (Sr. Individual Contributor)
Job Type: Direct Hire/Perm
Location: Hudson, OH
Onsite/Travel Requirements: Onsite, M-F
Eligibility: This role is not open to current or future sponsorship, or C2C partnerships
Job Description
Wright Technical Services is proud to represent a manufacturing company specializing in engineering components for OEMs for this position. The Manager of AI and BI will be creating the company's management-information and automation layer: one trusted set of operating and financial dashboards, governed data definitions, and practical AI-enabled workflows that improve decision speed, accountability, and productivity. This role must personally build the first solutions while establishing a scalable architecture and adoption model.
Qualifications
- 5+ years building business intelligence, analytics, automation, or data products in a manufacturing, distribution, or operational environment.
- Advanced Power BI capability: DAX, Power Query, data modeling, row-level security, deployment, performance tuning, and user-centered dashboard design.
- Strong SQL and practical experience integrating ERP, CRM, spreadsheets, data warehouses/lakes, and APIs. Microsoft Fabric/Azure experience is preferred.
- Direct Power Automate/Power Apps experience, working knowledge of Copilot Studio or comparable AI orchestration tools.
- Can map business processes, challenge weak requirements, define metrics, and communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical leaders.
- Demonstrated governance mindset: data quality, security, documentation, testing, change control, and responsible AI.
Leadership Skills
- Business-first and intensely curious; starts with the decision, not the tool.
- Fast builder who can ship a useful version, learn, and improve without creating technical debt.
- Strong enough to challenge executives with definitions and process discipline.
- Teaches users and builds adoption; does not become the only person who understands the system.
- Prioritizes measurable enterprise value over novelty.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with executives and functional leaders to translate business decisions into metrics, data products, workflows, and prioritized use cases.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for revenue, forecast, backlog, margin, pricing, launches, quality, delivery, capacity, labor, inventory, cash, and Project Forge execution.
- Create governed semantic models, data definitions, lineage, refresh controls, and role-based access across ERP, CRM, quality, operations, and financial sources.
- Automate manual reporting and approval workflows using Microsoft Power Platform, APIs, and fit-for-purpose AI tools.
- Deploy practical AI use cases such as variance explanation, document extraction, knowledge retrieval, exception detection, and executive decision support—with human controls and measurable value.
- Own dashboard accuracy, adoption, documentation, training, and release discipline; eliminate spreadsheet proliferation and conflicting versions of the truth.
- Partner with the Director of IT on security, identity, infrastructure, integration, and data-governance standards.
- Build a sequenced analytics/automation roadmap tied to EBITDA, cash, customer service, risk, and leadership productivity.
First 12-Month Outcomes
- Executive dashboard live with agreed definitions and accountable data owners.
- Automated S&OP and operating-review reporting with materially reduced manual preparation.
- Three to five production AI/automation use cases with measured time, cash, quality, or margin benefit.
- Documented data model, access controls, development standards, and backlog governance.
- High adoption across leadership and functional teams; retirement of redundant reports.
