Summary

The Ranger position will be a full-time position at the Yonkers Downtown BID This position will work alongside the Ranger team, with a focus on cleaning and maintaining Downtown Yonkers as well as the maintenance of Daylighting parks and other parks. This position will be responsible for maintaining a very high level of cleanliness in all areas throughout the Downtown, including graffiti removal, litter collection, snow removal (as appropriate, and a variety of other tasks which increase the quality of life in Downtown Yonkers. The ranger team is also responsible for landscaping and maintaining other parks, too. The ranger will be trained by the Ranger Lead or Ranger Manager to understand the landscaping needs through the area with a focus on the Daylighting Parks and Downtown area. This includes weeding, mulching and trimming. Outside work involves frequent standing and walking, including exposure to cold and heat. The duties require the applicant to be physical capable of this work, including extended hours of manual labor in all weather conditions The rangers are also required to work on certain event days and snow days. REQUIREMNTS / PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE - Valid New York State Driver's License required - Experience in Landscaping -General knowledge of power tools EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - High School diploma or GED THE YONKERS DOWNTOWN BID OFFERS THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS: -Life Insurance provided after six months - 401K eligible after six months - Vacation / Personal Days / Birthday Day Off - Sick Days (5) - Many Paid Holidays
