WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A DEPUTY SHERIFF

No two days are the same.

Deputy Sheriffs perform a variety of critical public safety responsibilities while helping maintain the safe and professional operation of the Sheriff's Office.

Responsibilities May Include:

Supervising and ensuring the safety and security of inmates

Processing and classifying inmates entering the facility

Maintaining courtroom security as a Bailiff

Transporting inmates safely and professionally

Serving civil process and court orders

Conducting facility inspections and security checks

Monitoring operations through security and surveillance systems

Responding to emergencies and critical incidents

Providing first aid and CPR when needed

Participating in community outreach and public safety initiatives

Working alongside dedicated professionals committed to public service

• Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Requires an acceptable background check and acceptable credit check.
• Meet all federal, state and local requirements to carry a firearm.
• Have never been dishonorably discharged from any of the armed forces of the United States.
• Requires a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
