Our client seeks a Principal Mainframe Engineer to join the FPRS Client Enhancements Team supporting custom enhancements for Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution clients. The role will design, develop, and optimize COBOL and JCL solutions across CICS, DB2, and VSAM, coordinate Control-M scheduling, and serve as a principal solution partner for major clients. The engagement targets year-end deliverables and long-term client initiatives.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $60.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Design and implement COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM solutions for client-specific enhancements.
• Manage and optimize batch workflows using Control-M.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define requirements and deliver releases.
• Provide principal-level solution guidance across Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution client initiatives.
• Support year-end processing, testing, and production readiness with strong troubleshooting.
  
  

Experience Requirements

• 10+ years of mainframe engineering experience.
• Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and Control-M.
• Experience in complex client enhancements and production support.
• Financial services experience preferred.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
