Hit $100K in a quarter and you’re looking at around $15K in commission, and that’s the starting tier. With $1.75 millions of live business in motion and average fees of $50-60K, a strong biller can move up the scale fast.
A desk with momentum, and room for someone to lead it.
Spencer Ogden’s New York Finance Practice is one of the fastest-growing desks in our North America business. It already has $2 millions of live business in motion, with PE funds, investment banks, asset managers, developers, energy-tech businesses and infrastructure platforms.
The foundations are built. What the desk needs now is a senior biller to take key relationships, win the next tier of clients and set the standard for the team around them.
Why this niche is worth owning
Energy transition, digital infrastructure, renewables, power and transportation are some of the best-funded sectors in the market. Every project need finance talent, and the buyers are CFOs, fund heads and investment leaders. Fees of $50-60K are standard here, not exceptional.
What you’ll do
- Own the relationships that matter. Take over and grow key accounts, win new business at CFO and investment-leader level, and negotiate fees that reflect the value of the search.
- Lead the senior searches. Run mandates across Project Finance, Corporate Finance, M&A, FP&A, Asset Management, Real Assets, and CFO and senior finance leadership.
- Be the market voice. Be the first call when a client needs to know who’s moving, where capital is going and what the hiring landscape looks like.
- Build the team. Mentor junior consultants, raise the bar on delivery and BD, and help shape the strategy for the New York practice as it scales.
Who we want
You’re an established 360 biller who has outgrown your current desk. You win your own clients, hold your own at senior level and want a platform that rewards ownership, with real influence over where the practice goes next.
- 2.5+ years’ recruitment experience, with a proven 360 record in any specialist market
- Consistent billings, including self-generated clients and negotiated fees
- Experience placing and engaging at senior and executive level
- A strong network, or the ability to build one quickly in a niche market
- A competitive, financially motivated mindset
- Permanent U.S. work authorization
Finance or accounting recruitment experience is a plus, but strong 360 billers from other specialist markets are welcome.
What you get
- Uncapped tiered commission from 15% to 40% of billings, with no draw and no cap
- $1.75M of live business and $50-60K average fees from day one
- Access to some of the biggest names in Energy & Infrastructure
- Medical, dental and vision fully covered
- Retirement plans
- A clear route into team leadership as the New York practice scales
- Global mobility across 11 offices
- A high-energy, ambitious team that backs people who deliver
