The City of Simi Valley is a well-established suburban community in Ventura County, situated in the southeast portion of the county within the greater Southern California region. The Public Works Department is a full-service municipal operation, with 237 authorized positions responsible for essential infrastructure systems that support daily life and long-term city growth.

The Public Works Director oversees a broad portfolio of responsibilities, including engineering, maintenance, sanitation, environmental programs, solid waste franchise, streets and traffic, facilities, water system operations and transit. This role requires the ability to balance day-to-day operational demands with long-range planning initiatives, ensuring that the aging infrastructure is maintained, enhanced, and positioned to meet future community needs. The City of Simi Valley is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking leader to serve as its next Public Works Director. The ideal candidate is an accomplished municipal public works executive with a strong background in infrastructure management, water and sanitation operations, civil engineering and organizational leadership, as well as a demonstrated commitment to public service excellence.

The annual salary range for the Public Works Director position is $222,417 – $275,374; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
