Summary

BTQ is developing the most powerful and efficient post-quantum secure hardware on the market. By leveraging processing-in-memory technology, we can achieve 10x the performance-per-watt and per-area of conventional architectures. We’re looking for a talented Design Verification Engineer to contribute to our chip verification, with a focus on ensuring our silicon is both performant and secure.

In this role, you will improve, maintain, and extend the verification of our processing-in-memory accelerator. You will work closely with the software team to develop python-based testbenches and testbench infrastructure to ensure that our hardware reflects our software models, and ensure that our IP can operate efficiently and reliably. You will also support the verification of hardware-level features for mitigating power and EM side-channel attacks.

You should have a track record of impressive verification work, either in academia or in industry. You should be experienced with open-source, python-based verification frameworks, like PyVerilator and Cocotb.

You should ideally have a background in designing secure digital systems, including side-channel security countermeasures like masking, and anti-tamper countermeasures.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Fluent in C and/or C++.
  • Fluent in Python.
  • Experience with python-based verification frameworks.
  • Understanding of best practices for testbench design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing and verifying secure hardware, especially including side-channel and anti-tamper countermeasures.
  • Experience with FPGA emulation.

This role is hybrid, and can be based in our New York City office, Portland, Oregon office, or San Francisco office.

To conform to US Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
