Summary
Customer service skills carry straight into this 100% remote, 1099 independent-contractor life insurance sales role. You'll help families who requested information understand their options and apply, and we walk you through licensing if you need it.
What you'll actually do
- Return calls from people who have already asked about life insurance
- Listen first: learn the household, goals, and concerns before presenting anything
- Explain options in plain language, then complete the application together
- Record notes and next steps in the CRM so no follow-up slips
- Check in with each client while the carrier reviews their application
- Keep learning products, carriers, and state rules through ongoing training
Who this is a fit for
- Experience in customer service, support, or call-center work where listening came first
- Patient explaining unfamiliar details more than once without sounding rehearsed
- Comfortable guiding someone from questions to a decision
- Willing to complete state licensing before selling; timelines vary by state
- A computer, a phone, and reliable internet
- At least 18 and legally authorized to work in the United States
What we provide
- Contracts with 43 carriers, so you can match each family to coverage that fits
- Exclusive lead systems that put you in front of people who've already asked about coverage
- Direct mentorship from Ben and Andrea, who run the agency
- Weekly team calls, call reviews, and scripts available to agents
- Guidance through state licensing if you aren't licensed yet
Compensation
1099 independent contractor, commission-based. No salary or hourly pay; earnings depend on individual production.
If you'd rather only answer questions than help someone reach a decision, this isn't the right fit.
The Wood Agency Life. Ben Wood, NPN 20251128. Independent insurance agency. Agents are independent contractors (1099) paid under contract. A state life insurance license is required before soliciting or selling business, and licensing timelines vary by state. Equal opportunity — we consider every applicant regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
