Cambridge Police Department Hiring The first review date of applications will be reviewed as received; however, positions will remain open until filled. The Cambridge Police Department is currently hiring for entry level and certified police officers. We are a police department who holds great pride in our professionalism and work ethic. The duties of entry level and certified officers are as follows. Officers will respond to, and handle calls for service to meet the needs of our community such as enforcing criminal law, local ordinances, enforcing traffic law, perform on-scene investigations, and maintaining a positive relationship with our community. We are a Community-Oriented Policing agency and strive to work in partnership with our Community. The starting salary for entry level officers during training is $52,000.00 and increased to $56,000.00 after successful graduation from the Police Academy. Once completing the probationary period, the salary goes to $57,500.
