Position Description: DUTIES- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
- Patrols and inspects grounds and buildings for security of doors and windows; checks for unsafe and hazardous conditions; informs proper authority of unsafe or hazardous conditions defined by the Board of County Commissioners. Patrols the Licking County parking garage 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily.
- Unlocks buildings during scheduled non-business hours; remains in building while unlocked.
- Notifies proper authority (as pre-established) of emergencies, problems, or unusual conditions (e.g., fire, theft, irate citizens, unlockable doors or windows, etc.). Maintains communications with security, county safety personnel, law enforcement and fire personnel.
- Prepares appropriate reports of disturbances, accidents and incidents. Advises Security Coordinator/EMA Director of potential problems and concerns. Prepares reports and records requested by Security Coordinator/EMA Director.
- Performs general administrative functions; completes routine forms (e.g., incident reports, time sheets, etc.); maintains required records (e.g., emergency contact numbers, written procedures/policies, etc.).
- Attends and participates in safety meetings and programs if necessary.
- Conducts regular internal security/safety inspections of the Licking County facilities/properties and detects existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommends and follows up on resolution to address potential unsafe conditions. Reports to Security Coordinator and the Risk Management Coordinator any issues or concerns.
- Performs testing on alarm systems to ensure proper functioning as needed.
- Acts as point of contact for routine questions regarding Licking County Properties safety/security policies and procedures.
- Backs up other Security Officer I positions on a regular basis. Backs up Security Coordinator as needed.
- Occasionally performs security duties for special events, assignments, projects, etc. on Licking County Properties.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
- Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; may be required to attend seminars/training; may be required to attend additional trainings per the departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Brief Description: Maintains the security of Licking County facilities/properties and provides a safe and secure environment for all County employees. Patrols the Licking County Parking Garage. Patrols other County facilities/properties as needed.
Job Prerequisites: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):Must possess excellent attendance. Must maintain strictest level of honesty. Must possess a Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain OPOTA 20 Hour Course Certification (Preferred) or obtained within 12 months of hire. Must be able to obtain FEMA/DHS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 within 6 months of hire. Must be able to obtain FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) within 2 years of hire. Must meet firearms qualifications requirements once a year as per the departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Compensation: Hours: Full Time - 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Hours may vary with special assignments)
Salary: $21.00 per hour or commensurate w/experience.
