COMPENSATION: $ 9,610.29 - 14,545.95 monthly. This position is subject to the provisions of LACERA's Management Appraisal and Performance Program (MAPP).

ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) as a Section Head. These roles are responsible for managing a major section within one of LACERA's divisions, focusing on overseeing complex operations and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. The positions are located in various Divisions of LACERA.

VACANCY INFORMATION:
There are three (3) current vacancies located in the Benefits, Member Services, and Retiree Healthcare Divisions. The resulting Eligible Register for this examination may be used to fill current and future vacancies throughout LACERA.
Work Schedule:
These full-time positions are required to work a 5/40 schedule (e.g. an eight (8) hour day, Monday through Friday), for at least the first six (6) months of employment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
OPTION 1:
One (1) year of experience in the supervision and administration of either retirement accounting, retirement benefits activities, or other complex systems or operations at the level of LACERA's class of Senior Retirement Benefits Specialist or higher.
-OR-
OPTION 2:
Two (2) years' experience in a highly responsible and complex administrative or staff capacity analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of problems of organization, program, procedure, budget or personnel at the level of LACERA's class of Supervising Administrative Assistant I or higher.
-OR-
OPTION 3:
Graduation from an accredited college or university and three (3) years' experience assisting in the management of a large operation engaged in administering a retirement system, insurance program, financial or banking programs, or other compensation, financial, or benefits programs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this classification, with or without reasonable accommodation.
PHYSICAL CLASS II – Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.
