    Position Summary

    San Diego State University is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Clinical Placement & Compliance Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator I) to join the School of Nursing in the College of Health and Human Services. This vital role supports our nursing students’ clinical education by managing compliance records, coordinating placements, and maintaining critical partnerships with healthcare agencies. Reporting to the School of Nursing Director, you will serve as a key resource for students, faculty, and clinical partners.

    Your primary responsibilities include:
    • Collecting, validating, and maintaining compliance documentation for nursing students and faculty.
    • Auditing compliance data using the Complio/American Data Bank system.
    • Assisting in the coordination of undergraduate and graduate clinical placements.
    • Managing and monitoring service-learning agreements with healthcare agencies.
    • Supporting School of Nursing accreditation efforts and regulatory documentation (e.g., BRN, NCLEX).
    • Maintaining open communication with clinical partners to ensure successful ongoing placements.
    • Assisting new faculty with BRN approvals and onboarding compliance.

    Position Information
    • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
    • This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
    • Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. (Position requires the ability to travel and work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, on and off campus.)
    • This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.


    Department Summary

    The SDSU School of Nursing (SON) is one of six schools within the College of Health and Human Services. SON offers accredited undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare highly skilled nursing professionals through a blend of academic excellence, clinical training, and community-based learning.

    As a key member of the San Diego Nursing and Allied Health Service Education Consortium, the School partners with regional healthcare institutions to provide essential clinical education experiences for students across San Diego and Imperial Valley.

    Education and Experience

    Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand standard office procedures; an ability to operate standard office equipment; an ability to learn office technology systems; an ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; and typing and keyboard skills. These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment.

    Key Qualifications
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
    • Experience with compliance tracking databases (e.g., Complio)
    • Familiarity with university operations or healthcare-related environments
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Understanding of FERPA and confidentiality in academic settings


    Compensation and Benefits

    Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,047 per month.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,864 - $6,072 per month.
