Sheriff's Food Services Director who plans, organizes, directs and administers the operations, programs and activities of the Food Services Division of the Sheriff's Department. Essential duties include administering food service at all detention and correctional facilities, bakery, and ROP operations; food service contracts with other departments and catering special events; formulates and implements operation policies; and manages the annual Food Services Division Budget.

Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
Availability: Incumbent will occasionally work weekends, nights, or holidays.
Facility: Incumbent will work directly and indirectly with inmates.
Certificate: Must possess a County Food Handler certificate at time of hire or Incumbents must obtain a San Bernardino County Food Handlers Certificate within two weeks of appointment.
Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum RequirementsExperience: Five (5) years of institutional food services experience which included at least three (3) years of full-scope supervisory or management responsibility.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working in a secure detention or correctional facility, including direct interaction with inmates in a food service environment.
- Possess thorough knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements specific to detention facilities.
- Stay current with new regulations and changes to existing requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance.
