Job Description:Purpose:Responsible for providing project support to Department Directors and the Department Executive Team. Provides consulting services to process leaders and team leaders. Analyzes, and presents alternatives, makes recommendations and provides assistance for resolving business and technical issues confronting process leaders and team leaders in the areas of planning, performance measurement, change management, and periodic assessment review.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Leads multiple process improvement teams
- Develops project work plans, project management and periodic assessment
- Facilitates the development of stakeholder analysis and communication plans for process improvement teams
- Identifies, collects, and researches to complete data analysis
- Makes recommendations to project teams and recommends organizational change utilizing appropriate talent
- Advises process leaders and team leaders in defining/identifying key measurers and setting performance targets
- Develops and improves models and methodologies for the department
- Reviews and critiques the work of functional team staff
- Communicates project and program information to all levels of the organization

Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus three (3) years experience related to the job.

Preferred Qualifications:- Demonstrated experience in a similar consultative role where the primary function of the position was to perform business process analysis and lead innovative change processes
- Demonstrated experience in performing research and analytical analysis as well as presenting/defending results to senior management and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated experience scheduling and conducting in-person or virtual business process training to internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience developing, updating, and maintaining business process documentation for use by business unit staff
- Experience mapping workflow of current and future state business processes and leading cross-functional implementation
- Demonstrated experience in project managing, organizing, leading and facilitating cross-functional groups with participants from all levels of the organization
- Experience evaluating performance measures to be sure that critical work processes are operating effectively and recommending and implementing process changes
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Power BI, SharePoint, and other relevant tools and applications
- Ability to travel to more than one work location
Notes to Candidate:Position Overview:The Business Process Consultant for Austin Water’s Environmental, Planning, and Development Services Program Area will lead business process development and improvement activities, strategic business planning, performance monitoring, and reporting in support of Austin Water’s environmental resource and infrastructure planning and management efforts.
Pay Range:$33.49 - $42.71 per hour
Position will be filled at the following location:Waller Creek Center (625 E 10th St, Austin, TX 78701)
Days and Hours:Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with some flexibility. Hybrid.
