Job Description
A position in the Missouri National Guard Facilities Division is more than a job, it's a calling. Our maintenance
personnel supports soldiers that protect and aid Missourians citizens
Job Location: This position will be located at Rosecrans MAP.
This description may not include all the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this
classification.
Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs wiring systems, equipment, and fixtures such as switches,
outlets, interior and exterior light fixtures, exhaust and circulation fans.
Installs and makes minor electrical repairs on specialized electrical equipment such as refrigeration
units, dishwashers, water heaters, and kitchen appliances.
Installs and maintains electrical motors, seats, replaces brushes, oils and cleans motors, and does
other electrical and limited mechanical work in repairing and replacing parts.
Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots emergency motor generators and equipment to provide
emergency power to designated facilities in case of commercial power failure.
Responsible for the recurring maintenance of electrical systems and emergency generators.
Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot radio-controlled fire alarm systems. Responsible for
programming central site computer and remote panels. Installs and designs fire alarm systems.
Reviews plans and specifications and provides written comments and recommendations to the Base
Civil Engineer. Inspect construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.
Estimates time and materials required to complete a work order, requisitions materials as necessary.
Determines work methods and proceeds with little technical supervision; receives assignments via
work order which may be accompanied by plans and sketches.
Receives general supervision through inspection of work for compliance with directions, plans, and/or
specifications.
Must become CPR qualified.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a formal four-year apprenticeship in the electrician trade; and, possession of a high
school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR
Five or more years of on-the-job training in the electrician trade; and possession of a high school
diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification/knowledge for Monoco-Ammo47, Fire Alarms, and Lighting Systems and
Grounding Inspections.
Key Skills
Intermediate knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrician trade.
Intermediate knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the electrician trade.
Intermediate knowledge of motor generators and equipment.
Intermediate knowledge of radio-controlled fire alarm systems.
Intermediate knowledge of computer programs and data entry.
Ability to perform a variety of skilled electrical work.
Ability to instruct and direct the work of semi-skilled and unskilled workers.
Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications, and to understand and carry out
instructions.
Ability to prepare estimates of time and materials required to complete a job.
Ability to travel to obtain proper certification on all equipment.
