Full-time position available with the Water Department, Employee Services & Initiatives located at 4800 E. 63rd St.
Salary Range: $18.61-$29.39/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Schedules meetings for facility calendars.
- Schedules and scribes grievance hearings.
- Answers a multi-line phone, screens and directs calls to the proper person.
- Assists with department payroll auditing.
- Acts as an administrative liaison between Employee Services & Initiatives and HR.
- Tracks training and development activity for Water employees in the proper databases.
- Creates and maintains filing system for employee files within the division as well as maintain various databases for tracking purposes.
- Sorts and distributes mail within the division.
- Participates in employee engagement activities such as managing Work-versary announcements department-wide.
- Serves as Safety Coordinator for the Employee Services & Initiatives Division.
- Conducts research as needed.
- Prepares entries for department newsletter, in addition to other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of increasingly responsible secretarial and/or clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
Preference given to candidates with demonstrated payroll auditing experience and/or PeopleSoft experience. Other Information

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
