      • Position Summary
      • (Classified as: Extended Education Specialist I)

        Full-time temporary position available on or after November 3, 2025 in Continuing and Professional Education. Appointment will be made for one year from date of hire with the possibility of reappointment and/or becoming permanent based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

        Under the direction of the Director of Program Development and Administration in Continuing and Professional Education (CaPE), the Program Outreach Specialist is responsible for outreach, recruitment, and student engagement processes that connect prospective learners with educational opportunities. The role builds and sustains relationships with internal and external partners, coordinates the use of enrollment systems to support prospective students, and contributes to the effective implementation of new and existing programs.

      • Job Duties
      • Duties include but are not limited to:
        • Coordinate CaPE representation at community college transfer events and multiple Stan State events each semester (NSO, Major Expo, etc.).
        • Maintain working relationships with California Community College departments for targeted student recruitment.
        • Assist in developing and distributing communication for CaPE alumni regarding graduate program pathways.
        • Conduct information sessions.
        • Foster and maintain recruitment relationships with agencies connected to CaPE programs (hospitals, school districts, fire/police).
        • Represent CaPE at community partner meetings and events to increase awareness of educational opportunities.
        • Manage prospective student outreach in Element451, providing “personal touch” follow-up on RFI forms and drip campaigns.
        • Transition applicants to program specialists once they reach the admissions stage, ensuring continuity of service.
        • Assist the Director with logistical tasks related to new program development and implementation (scheduling, materials, event coordination).
        • Support operational activities as priorities shift, consistent with the EES I role’s flexibility.
        • Other duties as assigned.
      • Minimum Qualifications
      • Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with courses in adult education and curriculum planning.
        Experience: Equivalent to two years of experience in planning classes or programs in a specialized field or area, preferably in higher, extended, or adult education. Experience developing resources, budgets, and marketing plans for educational programs and in acting as a liaison with the community is desirable. Teaching experience in higher or extended education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
      • Preferred Qualifications
        • Master’s degree in education, communications, business administration, marketing, or related field.
        • Three years of experience in student outreach, admissions, recruitment, or related higher education role.
        • Experience using CRM or student management systems (e.g., Element451, Slate, Salesforce, or similar).
        • Demonstrated experience coordinating events with educational institutions, community organizations, or employers.
        • Experience developing and delivering presentations or information sessions to diverse audiences.
        • Prior involvement in program coordination, project management, or logistical support in a higher education setting.
      • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
        • Knowledge of the procedures and practices in educational program and curriculum planning.
        • Knowledge of resources of the campus and the surrounding community.
        • Knowledge of the processes required to plan and construct academic programs and course outlines.
        • Ability to determine needs for new or revised programs.
        • Ability to plan course hours and credit.
        • Ability to develop course outlines with instructors, locate instructors, and to assist them in understanding and completing contract arrangements.
        • Ability to develop budgets and analyze costs.
        • Ability to write promotional materials and to develop a variety of promotional techniques.
        • Ability to represent the CSU system to the community and develop working relationships.
        • Ability to manage logistics of providing classes.
        • Ability to maintain cost information and records.
      • Special Conditions
        • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
        • Ability to travel to different work sites to attend meetings or events.
      • Salary Range
      • Anticipated salary will be $5,307 - $5,838 per month plus excellent paid benefits. Salary will depend on the qualifications of the successful finalist. (Full range: $5,307 - $7,554 per month)

      • Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
