The Position Family Readiness Supervisors/Specialists, within the Office of the Military, Nevada Army National Guard, serve as advisors and provide support for the Family Readiness Program in order to assist participants in obtaining the skills and resources necessary to become resilient, self-sufficient and self-reliant members of the State of Nevada's military community; assist in developing, planning, implementing and administering the program; ensure quality of life and well-being of members of the National Guard and their families for issues such as benefits and entitlements.
The Family Readiness Supervisor with the Office of the Military, Nevada National Guard, serves as a key advisor and support resource for the Family Readiness Program. The mission of this position is to help service members, and their families build resilience, self-sufficiency, and self-reliance within Nevada's military community. The supervisor is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and administering family readiness initiatives that promote quality of life and well-being through education on benefits, entitlements, and available support systems. Duties include coordinating and disseminating program information, conducting briefings and trainings, assessing family needs, and maintaining referral resources. This position also manages volunteer programs by providing orientation and training, tracking service hours, and recognizing contributions, as well as supporting team-building activities, action plans, and the development of peer-support groups. In addition, the supervisor contributes to data collection and reporting for program improvement, plays a critical role in deployment readiness, coordinates with local support agencies and community partners, and assists with youth programs designed to enhance the well-being of children in Guard families. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify: In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, social work, psychology or related field and two years of professional experience in a military Family Readiness Program; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR two years of experience as a Family Readiness Specialist in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements Must be able to pass State/Federal/Department of Defense background investigation. Must be a United States Citizen. Must be able to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays. Statewide travel is required. Additional Position Criteria This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
