The Position Supply Technicians participate in the procurement, receipt, storage, issuing, shipment, property control, inventory, and recordkeeping for a wide variety of assets to include, but not limited to, the following: property, equipment, services, food, forms, parts and supplies. Incumbents work in a warehouse, stockroom or office setting and prepare and process documents for the requisition, purchase, receipt, issuance and transfer of goods; expedite the flow of goods from vendor to user; and maintain control records for a variety of property and equipment.

High Desert State Prison is recruiting for a Supply Assistant in Indian Springs, Nevada. Supply Assistants manage the receipt, storage, issuance, shipping, inventory, and record-keeping of property, equipment, and supplies. Responsibilities include reordering stocked items, performing limited procurement with supervisory review, and delivering or picking up supplies, including hazardous materials, within the local area or prison grounds. Additional duties involve preparing purchase orders, contacting vendors for pricing and availability, and resolving vendor issues. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience in stocking, shipping, issuing and receiving materials in a retail, storeroom or warehouse environment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
