The Nevada Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Retail Storekeeper 1 (RSK 1) to support commissary operations at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs, Nevada. Working under the direction of a Retail Storekeeper 3, this position plays a vital role in delivering commissary orders directly to inmate housing units. Responsibilities include verifying inmate identities, checking orders for accuracy, obtaining signatures, and maintaining accurate records of undeliverable items. The RSK 1 will supervise and work alongside inmates, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, tool control regulations, and institutional procedures. Ideal candidates will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a respectful and secure environment. This position operates Tuesday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with hours subject to change based on institutional needs. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) One year of storekeeping or retail experience which included stocking, sales and/or customer service. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Applicants may be required to work weekends, holidays and/or special events. A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
