www.solanocounty.govThe County Counsel's Office serves as the civil legal advisor for the Board of Supervisors, County officials and departments, County boards and commissions, the Solano County Grand Jury, schools, special districts and other public entities in the County. The County Counsel provides advice on a wide variety of legal matters ranging from the Americans with Disabilities Act to Zoning. The County Counsel's duties also include litigating civil actions on behalf of its public clients, and representing the County in juvenile dependency and conservatorship proceedings. The County Counsel's Office does not provide advice directly to members of the public.

County Counsel's Office The Position Under administrative direction, plans, organizes and directs daily operations within the County Counsel’s Office; serves as a member of both the County's and the department’s management team.
As the assistant department director of the County Counsel’s Office, this position is characterized by the combination of management duties and responsibilities coupled with the performance of supervisory duties and as required, the practice of law including, litigation of highly complex and/or controversial administrative and civil matters which may have a substantial impact on the organization.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be an accomplished attorney who demonstrates the ability to represent clients with professionalism, creativity, and collaboration. This individual will bring a broad range of legal experience and the ability to provide thoughtful, practical advice to elected boards, commissions, and County departments.

- Breadth of Experience: Proven background across diverse areas of law, including advising governing bodies in complex legal and policy matters.
