    The Position

    The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is seeking to fill one (1) Rehabilitation Therapy Services Supervisor position that will be based at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) located in Martinez, CA. This position is required to travel between two (2) therapy clinics located in Pittsburg and San Pablo, CA.

    The Rehabilitation Therapy Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising and instructing a team of Physical Therapists (PTs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), Therapy Assistants (TAs), and support staff of therapy aides and clerks. They participate in program development and performance improvement projects and activities to better meet standards of care according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency standards. They are also responsible for conducting staff meetings regarding policy and procedures, safety practices, documentation, and reimbursement issues.

    CCRMC offers a progressive, fun, and educational environment that encourages innovative treatment programs and allows individuals to collaborate with a variety of healthcare providers. CCRMC is an established teaching hospital for Physicians Residency Program, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Therapy Assistant students. The Rehabilitation Therapy unit is committed to providing the community with high-quality, individualized comprehensive rehabilitation services within the parameters of available resources to all who seek care.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Licenses Required: 1) Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License and/or ability to provide suitable transportation as approved by the appointing authority, and 2) current Physical Therapy License issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California OR current Occupational Therapy License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy OR current Speech Language Pathologist license issued by the State of California Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.

    Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, or its equivalent, experience in the practice of occupational, speech, or physical therapy in a hospital, clinic, psychiatric or similar facility.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • Demonstratable clinical expertise
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Management and supervisory experience
    • Advanced computer skills


    Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.Training and Experience Evaluation: At the time of filing, within the supplemental questionnaire, candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire. Candidates that clearly meet the minimum qualifications, as described above, will have their training and experience responses evaluated. The training and experience questionnaire is designed to measure candidate’s relevant education, training, and/or experience as it relates to the Rehabilitation Therapy Services Supervisor classification. (Weighted 100%). The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
