Performs Professional and administrative work related to the ongoing development, execution, and evaluation of the city's internal and community-wide innovation programs, as outlined in the Future-Ready City Master Plan.
Coordinates efforts of city agencies, expert partners, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders toward achieving the City’s future-ready city plan goals. Manages and supports a variety of projects including but not limited to: Addressing disparities in access to high-speed internet (the digital divide), advanced air mobility and other autonomous vehicle technologies, digital twin programs, smart buildings and resilience hubs, and entrepreneur engagement initiatives, among other emerging future-ready city programs. This position will leverage human-centered design and train other staff and departments about innovation skills.
Additionally, this position will serve as the key advisor to the Department Director, city leadership, and elected officials on future-ready city and innovation matters. Work is performed under the supervision of the Department Director and Assistant Director. Performance is reviewed periodically through formal and informal meetings and reports.

- Functions as a team player in a fast-paced environment with many ambitious concurrent goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Sustainability, Business Administration, Public Policy, Public Administration, Engineering, Social Science required or related field and four (4) years of experience in the area of sustainability, engineering, design, or related field, including three (3) years in a progressively responsible supervisory capacity required or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Some budget experience preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License required.
This is a full-time CONTRACT position with the same benefits as Regular full-time. Most contracts are renewable for terms of one year. - Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;

- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
