Position OverviewThe City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill three (3) vacancies for the classification of Information Technology Intern (Part-Time) in the Department of Information Technology. This recruitment is specifically for the Service Center and the consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of tasks providing hands-on technical assistance related to the Service Center functions of the City's Information Technology Department; and performs related duties as assigned.
Service Center: Under close direction and supervision, assists with providing help desk and desktop support services, to include receiving and responding to customer incidents and service requests, managing network usernames and resources, desktop computers and laptops, and implementing and maintaining the technology that manages, secures, and governs the behavior of desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Position Details:- This is a part-time, at-will position.
- This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS).
- This position is not eligible for any health insurance, or retirement benefits under the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) of Nevada, or pay increases.
- Work schedule will vary, may be scheduled any day Monday through Saturday, and may not exceed 19 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Training and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform on the job.
- May be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university program with a major in Information Technology or a closely related field.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
- Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
- Desirable: Graduate of a college, university, or technical program related to the work.
