Description

Having highly talented employees provides the best service to our community.This is a part-time position and incumbents will work an average of 19 hours per week. Work hours and schedules vary according to program and participant needs. 
Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To Under general supervision and direction of the Community Services Supervisor:
- Assists with various accounting and administrative work within the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Agency (PRCSA).
- Provides support to the Administration, Budget and Accounting operations.
- Maintains PRCSA's activity registration/site reservation software data.
- Prepares journal entries for review.
- Assists in payroll reporting, administrative duties, grant research assistance, expenditure projections, reconciliation of various funding sources, billing granting agencies, and similar duties.
- Participates cooperatively in work team activities and performs other related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications One year of governmental administrative staff experience, preferably related to accounting, budget principles, report writing, and information research. Education equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with specialization in public administration, business administration, finance, economics, or closely related field is highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
 DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES  Knowledge of: operating modern devices including smart phones, tablets, laptops, personal computers and utilizing standard business software applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, and related software.
 Ability to: work in a team environment and provide quality internal customer support, understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; use correct grammar and spelling.

The Human Resources Department in conjunction with the hiring department(s) will review the applications and those candidates who possess the most pertinent qualifications will be invited to continue in the selection process which will include: 
 Performance Examination : (Qualifying)  will assess the candidates' proficiency in using Microsoft Word/Excel 2016 software.  
Selection Oral Interview :  which will evaluate the candidates' knowledge, skills and abilities in relation to those factors which are essential for successful performance on the job.

Part-Time employees accrue paid sick leave at the rate of one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked up to a maximum accrual of 6 days or 48 hours. Employees are eligible to use 3 days or 24 hours of accrued paid sick leave in a 12-month period.
