Department Systems Engineer to serve as an internal technical consultant on all related departmental systems. Duties include assessing organizational needs and computing resources; monitoring and managing server and network infrastructure in a data center environment; assessing and evaluating configurations to optimize systems; developing system security standards; researching and procuring hardware/software; managing hardware/software maintenance and licensing renewals; serving as project manager for technology projects; and creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Summary of Benefits Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: I ncumbent must successfully complete a background investigation (fingerprinting and work history/education check) in addition to a job-related physical exam, including a drug test.
Availability: Incumbents may occasionally work evening and weekend hours. Some overtime, on-call, or call back work may be required.

Minimum Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of full-time equivalent experience, within the last five (5) years, performing systems operations support at the enterprise level on any of the following:
- Windows System Administration to include maintaining and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016 and later.
- Database Administration on MS SQL Server 2016 and later.
- Administration of Network Infrastructure, such as switches, routers, and IDS Modules.
- Administration of Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions
- Administration of a Virtual Machine (VM) Environment
- Administration of a Cloud/Hybrid-Cloud Environment
-- AND -- REQUIRED EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed post high-school coursework in computer science, business/public administration, or closely related field. A list of coursework is required unless applicant possesses a bachelor's degree in a qualifying field.
Education Substitution: An additional one (1) year of qualifying experience within last six (6) years may substitute 15 semester (23 quarter) units of the education requirement, for up to 30 semester (45 quarter) units.
