    The Position

    The Employment and Human Services Department is currently seeking applications for Child Nutrition Food Operations Supervisor-Project. There is one (1) vacancy for this role.

    This position will primarily be responsible for the oversight of a vended meal program for the children enrolled in childcare countywide and the supervision of transport staff. They will support ordering meals, ensuring high-quality food is provided to centers, and collaborating with our Child Nutrition Manager.

    What you will typically be responsible for:
    • Oversight of vended food program, including ordering meals and providing vendor feedback
    • Maintain back-up food supplies and coordinate delivery to sites as needed
    • Conduct weekly site visits to monitor meal service
    • Ensure food safety practices are implemented in all systems
    • Develop a firm understanding of CACFP regulations and ensure compliance
    • Review monthly data to process CACFP meal claims and vendor invoices
    • Lead and support the unit through training and coaching
    • Collaborate with program partners to collect and analyze menu feedback

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator's license will be accepted during the application process.

    Certificate Required: Possession of a valid Culinary Certificate. Must be able to obtain Food Manager Certification within one year of hire.

    Education: Possession of a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency or a high school proficiency certificate.

    Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience or its equivalent of full-time in a supervisory capacity in a commercial kitchen which included responsibility for the planning, preparation and serving meals for 100 individuals or more.

    Substitution for Certificate: Five (5) years of full-time or its equivalent of full-time food service experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen preparing and serving meals for 100 or more individuals may be substituted for the Culinary Certificate.

    Other Requirements: As required by law, all appointees must successfully pass fingerprint and tuberculosis clearance and a current physical examination.

    CONVICTION HISTORY

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
