    A Project Controls Specialist II - Scheduler job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department Administration and Finance section. This position will ensure the quality of project schedules, reports, analyses and information produced through the City's Project Controls System (Primavera-P6) for capital project programs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build expertise in project scheduling while gaining hands-on experience with large-scale capital projects, including exposure to Primavera P6 and Trimble Unity Construct(E-Builder) Capital Management Software. Project Controls Specialists are working closely with program managers, project managers, inspectors, and the project control team in the Capital Delivery Division

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or Public Administration
    • Three (3) years of experience working with construction project scheduling, cost estimating and tracking in a capital project organization including systems such as Primavera (P6), Trimble Unity Construct(E-Builder), or similar capital project management software

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in project controls work on infrastructure capital projects, or EPC projects using Primavera P6 software
    • Experience with SharePoint, Trimble Unity Construct (E-Builder), Microsoft Office Suite
    • Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Excel and Power BI
    • Experience and knowledge of Capital project processes and practices in public/private sectors
    • Experience with high-volume scheduling and project cost management
    • CCP, PMP, SP certifications

    The Project Controls Specialist II - Scheduler job responsibilities include:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently lead monthly project schedule meetings with Project Managers.
    • Prepare critical path method (CPM) schedules and associated progress reporting, cost reporting, and project analysis.
    • Develop and maintain baseline schedules for Water and Sewer infrastructure capital projects.
    • Responsible for updating and maintaining ongoing project schedules accordance with approved work plans, long-term strategic plans, agreements and contracts.
    • Knowledge and practice standard project control principles, project management principles.
    • Coordinate with Engineers, Contractors and Project Managers on development of schedules in accordance with contract requirements.
    • Update, monitor, review and perform quality control checks for the accuracy and integrity of all phases of the project lifecycle.
    • Maintain document management processes and perform monthly reports as needed by upper management.
    • Assist the Project Managers in identifying potential concerns with project delivery schedule issues and participate in the development of recovery and resolution plans.
    • Provide accurate, high-quality, and insightful schedule analysis and data analysis.

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    Vacation

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
