The Position Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.
The Custodial Worker 2 position at the Nevada National Guard Reno location is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of buildings and surrounding grounds. Working under the direction of a Custodial Supervisor, this role follows established procedures and safety guidelines to ensure facilities remain orderly and fully operational. Key responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas; vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors; dusting surfaces; emptying trash and recycling; and restocking restroom and cleaning supplies. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Additional Position Criteria This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
