This position preserves AUS connection to City of Austin's status as "Live Music Capital of the World".
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Provides complex evaluation of music venues and sound production used to transmit live and recorded productions at AUS. Provides high quality and diverse music programming for target audience at AUS. Schedules live music performances and programs/coordinates AUS music playlist; considers listeners requests. Administers music programs and contracts. Evaluates technical quality of audio systems. Evaluates and recommends layouts, flowcharts, and/or schematics of audio equipment. Integrates audio programming with live web casting and audio equipment and needs. Mitigates sound level issues, regulates sound inputs and feeds, and/or coordinates audio feeds with live broadcasts and recordings. Determines audio production equipment needs and makes recommendation for purchases.

Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of related experience.
- Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of high-quality and diverse live music and cultural programming.
- Ability to independently explore, create, and administer new music programs application processes.
- Ability to provide requested music program reports.
- Ability to prepare and make presentations to public committees, commissions, and community groups.

About the Position: This position will primarily focus on programming daily live music performances at Austin Bergstrom International Airport across 8 performance stages located within the secure area. As a part of administering the music program, this position will develop and maintain a process and criteria for administering a method of evaluating musicians as candidates for playing live music at the airport. This will include improving current operational standards for buying talent and ongoing communication with applicants and panelists. This position will assist with music program process improvements, weekly music program coordination, musician security screenings, scheduling special performances, and establishing and maintaining a database of musicians and music industry professionals. Writing promotional copy about musicians, live performances and special performances for CoA promotion and social media posts will be another area of focus; as well as building rapport and maintaining open communication with airport vendors, concessionaires and other aviation stakeholders.
Schedule: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Hours may change according to departmental needs; work hours may include after-hours, holidays, and weekend work.
Salary Range: $65,390 - $81,740/annually

Driver's Requirement: This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite.
