About our opportunityThe IT Department is excited to hire an intern to join their helpdesk division. This role will help support the IT Service Desk team and initiatives in IT Infrastructure. The IT intern will assist the IT Department with helpdesk service requests, deploying & imaging laptops/PCs for the business users, as well as shadowing/learning from the other IT technicians. We are looking for a reliable and driven individual to join the team. Our ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a customer-friendly attitude and the ability to work in a team environment.
Compensation: $15.98 per hour (This position is not eligible for benefits).
Length of Internship: 10 weeks
Work Schedule: 15 - 20 hours weekly; schedule determined between the student and department.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Assisting with deployment:
- Unboxing computers, monitors, keyboards, mice and docking station.
- Prepping and installing above equipment.
- Copying files from one computer to another.
- Retiring of the replaced equipment.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming concerns and issues related to systems, software and hardware via phone or through the IT ticketing system
- Creating tickets in the IT ticketing system.
- Installing software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in person or remotely.
- Document solutions to technical issues.
- Escalate issues to the next level of support personnel, when needed.
About you Education and Experience:
Enrolled in College or Technical School pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT Technology, Technology or related field.
Applicants with equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. Physical Demands / Work Environment / Disclaimer Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Training topics may include driver training, CPR/first aid, communication, supervisor training, workplace violence, substance abuse, and various computer related classes.
