    The Position

    Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

    Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.

    The Department of Taxation is seeking to fill a vacant Audit Supervisor position in the Reno Office. This position will directly supervise auditors for the Department of Taxation. The role involves reviewing completed audits to ensure they comply with relevant laws, rulings, policies, procedures, and required formats. It also includes serving as the first level of review for appealed determinations and representing cases before a hearing officer when needed. Additional responsibilities include managing audit inventory, selecting accounts for audit, and developing and delivering public training workshops. The position also oversees performance evaluations, work standards, training, and disciplinary actions.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional level auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as an Auditor III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
