    Annual Salary: $320,000 - $380,000 DOE/DOQ

     

    The City of Milpitas, California, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking City Attorney to lead the City’s legal services and provide trusted counsel to its elected and executive leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to serve a thriving, innovation-driven community at the crossroads of Silicon Valley. In this role, the City Attorney advises on policy, navigates complex legal matters, and upholds a culture of ethical and transparent governance. Overseeing all municipal legal functions, a dedicated legal team of three (including the City Attorney), and a budget of $1.4 million, the City Attorney works closely with the City Council, City Manager, and department leaders to advance strategic priorities and safeguard the City’s interests. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in municipal law, with a substantive technical area of focus advising Council on human resources issues, and knowledge of litigation to effectively advise and oversee outside litigation council. They should have sound judgment, and a hands-on leadership approach that inspires trust, collaboration, and accountability across the organization.     COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    This position will receive an annual salary of $320,000 – $380,000 DOE/DOQ. In addition, a competitive benefits package is provided.
