DescriptionPerforms systems analysis and coordinates the development of systems and/or applications of a specified function or area within a department. The Senior Departmental Systems Analyst will support Customer Care’s multi-center operations by leading reporting, analytics, and system improvements across Customer Relationship Management, Interactive Voice Response, telephony, and workforce management systems. The role will also serve as the primary data and systems expert for Customer Information, Customer Relations, and Transit Access Pass Information, providing insights to help leadership understand call drivers, service performance, customer behavior, and operational needs.

Examples of Duties- Researches functional areas to determine information systems needs
- Performs requirements analyses, feasibility studies, and prepares project proposals for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of an information system specific to assigned department
- Designs technical systems specifications
- Provides input to consultants regarding systems needs and acceptability of alternatives
- Evaluates systems to ensure that requirements are properly satisfied
- Verifies vendor compliance with contract and work plan
- Monitors systems performance and responds to systems emergencies
- Troubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves system problems
- Prepares cost/benefit analysis reports for information processing systems and develops associated justifications for the acquisition of systems products and services
- Prepares reports, systems training manuals, and technical systems documentation
- Creates and modifies microcomputer programs
- Develops advanced microcomputer analytical models and report programs using specified software packages
- Designs advanced decision support tools and models used for decision making
- Participates in department information security, disaster recovery, and safety programs
- Participates in evaluation and awards of contracts to information systems vendors
- Oversees, trains, and motivates assigned staff

Minimum QualificationsA combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
Education- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Experience- Three years of relevant experience performing systems analysis or computer programming work; some positions in this class may require specialized experience in area of assignment
Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications (PQs) are used to identify relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) as determined by business necessity. - Experience developing dashboards and reports using analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar to visualize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), call trends, and operational performance
- Experience analyzing contact center systems, including Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), case management, or telephony platforms
- Experience gathering and documenting system requirements from multiple stakeholder groups and translating them into technical specifications for IT or vendors
- Experience working with workforce management or quality monitoring tools, such as Calabrio or similar
- Experience preparing executive-level reporting with data storytelling, visuals, and recommendations for operational improvements
