    Job Summary

    Are you ready to have some fun in the sun while working at a pool or lake? The City of Olathe is looking for energetic, outdoor-loving people to be Swim Instructors for the upcoming 2026 summer. Come make a splash working as a member of the seasonal aquatic staff for the City of Olathe!

    MUST BE 15 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
    STARTING HOURLY PAY: $16.50 - $17.06

    The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching swim lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers, requiring excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of swimming techniques, and a commitment to promoting water safety and fitness.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Teaches swim lessons to participants of various ages and skill levels, ensuring they receive instruction appropriate to their abilities; provides clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents or guardians regarding progress and areas for improvement.
    • Develops and implements lesson plans, adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of each student .
    • Enforces safety rules and regulations in and around the pool area to ensure a safe environment for all participants; performs rescues and administers first aid when necessary.
    • Offers exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.


    Qualifications

    Experience: Previous experience as a swim instructor or in a related field is required. Must be 15 years of age or older.

    Education: None Required.

    Licenses & Certifications: None required.
