    Full-time position available with the Conventions & Entertainment Facilities Department, Event Support Division located at Bartle Hall 301 West 13th Street
    Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Organize, stage, and coordinate meetings, lectures, stage shows, sporting events, concerts, exhibitions, conventions, and theatrical productions within the City's multipurpose facilities.
    • Manage and supervise event operations, including setup, staffing, and custodial crews in assigned areas.
    • Anticipate client needs and requirements by exercising sound independent judgment and proactive planning.
    • Interact effectively with event patrons, clients, and departmental staff to ensure successful event execution.
    • Maintain and promote a positive public image of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department.
    • Perform duties under general direction, with work evaluated through activity reports, direct observation, conferences, and results achieved.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience of event set up, event coordination and/or arena/convention management; OR high school graduation and 5 years of experience in event set up, event coordination and/or arena/convention management. May be required to possess a valid State -issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Preference is given to applicants that have an accredited bachelor's degree in business administration, liberal arts, recreation public administration or one of the social sciences and one (1) year related experience in arena management, convention center management or tradeshow management. A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience is preferred.
